Your Namibia safari starts here. Welcome to one of Africa’s most amazing safari countries! After some very brief formalities, it’s time for you to discover all that Namibia can offer.
Your private guide will meet you on arrival at the Hosea Kutako International airport and transfer you to Okapuka Safari Lodge for your first night on safari with us. The drive to the lodge will take you through Namibia’s capital city of Windhoek.
Okapuka Safari Lodge – Guided Game Drive
Join us this afternoon for one of the best things about going on safari: a guided game drive. From the open-sided vehicle, you’ll have the perfect position for seeing many of the animals that the area is known for.
Experience Africa’s wild side at the doorstep of Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, just a 30 minute drive from the center of town. Surrounded by a 7,300 hectare living escape of prime African savannah, Okapuka Safari Lodge is an oasis of lush green lawns under ancient camelthorn trees against the backdrop of a towering mountain range. Enjoy the peace and quiet from the verandah of your cozy holiday room watching an array of warthogs passing by accompanied by antelopes, peacefully grazing side by side.
Okapuka, meaning “small animal” in Herero, lives up to its name already at first glance. The iconic game drive, however, will take your breath away as you might encounter most of Namibia’s beautiful and diverse wildlife right here. Just out of town, yet deep in the African bushveld, you are almost guaranteed sightings of all indigenous antelope species, giraffe, ostriches and, most importantly, white rhino.
Okapuka Safari Lodge takes you on a nostalgic African journey, reflecting both the majestic tranquility of our mysterious continent and the exciting wildlife.
You’re going to love Etosha National Park, which is one of the best places to see wildlife in all of southern Africa. Watch for lions hunting by the waterholes, and you can’t miss the elephants cloaked in white Etosha dust. Rhinos are often spotted, and leopards are also possible here. And don’t forget the scenery: the vast and mesmerizing salt pans that are such a feature of the park are simply stunning.
After breakfast, you will leave Okapuka Safari Lodge with your private guide and drive north through the town of Okahandja where you will have the chance to visit a local woodcarvers’ market. You will arrive at your next destination, Mokuti Etosha Lodge, in the afternoon.
Etosha National Park – Guided Game Drive: Going on a safari never gets old! What animals will you find this time?! This afternoon you will join your private guide in Etosha National Park to look for lions, elephants, rhinos, giraffe and lots more.

Right outside the eastern gate of Etosha National Park, Mokuti Etosha Lodge combines luxury rooms with excellent service. The rooms come in a range of sizes and styles, but they generally have warm color schemes and tasteful safari-style decorations. There’s a large swimming pool, as well as bar and dining areas.
You’re in one of Namibia’s most beautiful corners as you explore the northern region of Damaraland. Apart from the beautiful and rugged landscape, where brown mountains shelter numerous prehistoric rock art sites, you might see desert-adapted elephants, giraffes, rhinos, or even lions, especially in the river valleys.
After breakfast, you will leave Mokuti Etosha Lodge with your private guide driving west to Damaraland. Your first stop today will be at the Otjikandero Himba Village.
Here you will learn about the culture and practices of the OvaHimba, such as their beliefs about the Sacred Fire and the way the red ochre covering known as Otizje is made and how it is applied, which is what gives Himba women their distinctive coloring. From here we will continue on to the town of Khorixas for lunch and arrive at Twyfelfontein Country Lodge in the early evening in time for dinner.
This morning you’ll get a glimpse into Africa’s ancient hunter-gatherer cultures when you visit the impressive prehistoric rock art at Damaraland.
This afternoon your options include relaxing at the lodge, going for a short hike on the hiking trails around the lodge or joining your private professional Crisscross Namibia Safaris guide in an off-road adventure exploring the dry river beds in search of desert-adapted elephants. Keep your eyes open for giraffe, ostrich, oryx, and springbok. These animals also frequent this area. It’s so exciting to imagine what animals you might come across on your journey!
The closest accommodation to the world-famous rock engravings of Twyfelfontein, Twyfelfontein Country Lodge is a charming place. The lodge seems like an extension of the rock itself with wood and Damaraland stone incorporated into the building materials and decor, while the modern rooms come in bright safari colors. Count on a swimming pool, bar- restaurant and big views.
Skeleton Coast National Park stretches for many remote miles along Namibia’s northwestern shoreline and is simply magnificent. It is another world where crashing waves meet seas of sand dunes, with shipwrecks marooned in the sands in many places.

You’ll be exploring Sossusvlei, an exceptionally beautiful sand sea that’s filled with sand dunes of the most beautiful shapes and, near sunrise and sunset, warm sand colors. Climb a sand dune to look out over the desert, search for the perfect combination of sand ridge and silhouetted acacia tree for your Instagram selfie, or just sit back and enjoy the view.
